Seaside Shenanigans

Hello misfits,
We hope you all are having a great time. Winter has bid goodbye to us, and has taken with it the warm and heavy clothes.
As there are no chilly winds to lock us inside our houses,
People are planning late night trips and weekend getaways with their friends and your fellow misfits did the same. We recently went to Diu island and have brought back with us style ideas and tips regarding what should one wear on summer vacations or on a beach trip.
First of all one should keep in mind that going on vacations in a season which is not winter, people must not take heavy clothes and do not need layering. Since I am going to talk about styling for the beach, you must remember the color of your clothes plays an important part in making you feel vacation ready.
If you are going to the beach, try to avoid any solid, formal shirts, rather go with cool colored t shirts with cool, light (or even neon) shades, specifically colors which are not dull.
In the picture, Fardeen is wearing a misty pink t shirt and nothing says beach wear more than white shorts which he decided to sport with the tee.

Its not necessary that you opt for white shorts only, any light color would do the trick.
The important point to remember is, you must feel relaxed in whatever you wear, after all you want to enjoy your vacations and feel free.
Pro Tip: Glasses and caps will always be your friend while going not only on vacations but for any outing.

Formal ‘Casual’ties- II

DSC_2157-01.jpeg

In our last post, we pointed out how you can pull off a casual look by track pants, as these are no longer used just for the purpose of exercise or chilling. Who says track pants are used just for running?
These days track pants are highly in trend everywhere. And not just for girls,
As you can see in the picture above, I am wearing the taped track pants, which i wore to college. I should also point out that i am not the first one to wear track pants to college, as you must have understood by now that these pants are very much in vogue now, so why only use them while burning fats?
Wearing track pants with sweatshirt or sweater will give you a street-style look, here I am wearing a loose sweatshirt which is complimenting the track pants and my entire look just got more dapper. I paired the sweatshirt with matching sneakers, even though white Sneakers or any sports shoes would go with the entire outfit.

Pro tip: try styling your sweatshirt by tucking it in your track pants, it will give you fresh look, making you stand out of the crowd.

Again, as we always say, never ever fit in one box and see things the way you’ve always been taught to see, instead experiment with your style, wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident all the time, making your own style statement.

Love,
TMJ

Formal ‘Casual’ties

This is another post wherein we’re going to talk about semi formal dressing. How do you manage to pull off an outfit where the occasion is neither too casual nor too formal?
Two words: track pants.
Track pants have been in vogue for quite some time now and it wouldn’t hurt for you to own something with a side-stripe.
The stripe adds a sporty look to anything and when paired with a top or a crop-top, or a sweater/sweatshirt in case of woolens, it’ll definitely add the neither-too-chic nor-too-casual look to your outfit.
You know what would look even better with a track pant? A Polo T-shirt. Nothing says semi-formal like a Polo T-shirt.
Pair it with sneakers or in case your track pants are of ankle-length, with high-top shoes. What’s more, if you’re in a mood for experimenting, add a cap to your ensemble and violá, there you go.
In the picture, Srishti decided to pair her tracks with a faux fur sweater and classic striped sneakers, but like we always preach, you can give your own creative spin to it in order to decide what looks best on you.

Rebel in Red

Many times it happens that we men find ourselves surrounded with the same, age old (yet classic) styles, which could be a button down black shirt or blue denim. Well, we cant say that sticking to the classics is bad, as it seems to work for most of the folks out there,
However, the handful of us who want to stand out, who love breaking the stereotypes, will never feel satisfied with the mainstream fashion or style.
To all those people who do not want to fit in,
Yes, you can be different, you can stand out.
It doesn’t matter whether the white sneakers are in trend or not.
What matters is, what you feel like dressing today.
So, today’s outfit in which i am wearing a black t shirt with a blue ripped jeans, i decided to not to go with white or black sneakers, instead I went with red.
And as you can see, the result is wonderful.
Even though red is a very common (and hot) color but when it comes to buying things other than apparels, men are hesitant while going for red accessories.
What we fail to understand is, there is no rule or law which states what colors can be used by a particular gender.
So yes, go out and experiment with colors. You will see a good change in your style just by simply trying other colors.
I will not at all persuade people to try red sneakers, you can go with any color and make your own style statement.
Just remember, you do not need to conform with the norms while styling yourself.

Jackets in Jeopardy

The first month of the year is going to end soon and so will the winter season, even though the chilly breeze will probably not leave us anytime soon. However, it’s still not gonna be as cold as it used to be, and the question we might ask ourselves one of these days is, what to wear on one such ‘less chilly nights’.

You might scourge your wardrobe looking for something which doesn’t make you sweat like you’re in the deep trenches of hell while also wearing something to save you from the not-so-severe winter.
Winter is a weird season for fashion. Any nice tops or shirts you might wear have to be wrapped up in woolen clothing. We have two words for you -bomber jackets.

These are your friends without fur and come in handy if you want to wear something fashionable which also keeps you the right amount of warm. Bomber jackets were initially made only for pilots but trends take no time to catch and here we are.
One of the best features of a bomber jackets is that, it’s neither too warm, nor too heavy unlike other winter gear.

Pair it with any solid t-shirt and you are good to go. Adding it to your wardrobe will instantly give you something which goes with pretty much everything and gives you a totally different vibe.
Even though most of the time people go with the mainstream black jacket like I myself am wearing, (it was given to me by my brother) but there are many other colors which will give your whole outfit a trendy and edgy look. So go out and try different colors, there is no need to fit in with the same boring colors which men are expected to wear.

Traditional Twists

Styling and accessorizing a casual wear is a piece of cake, but how do you bring innovation in traditional clothing? I mean, it’s called ‘traditional’ for a reason.

‌Our advice- Do yourself a favour and give the blouse a rest. Instead, go for a sexy/low cut crop-top or a bralette which will not just spell out the ‘different’ in your outfit, but also make others look twice and wonder why they didn’t come up with an idea like that. However, whatever you wear, make sure that you feel comfortable in it because that’s what matters at the end of the day. Make sure to choose a bralette/crop top which you feel is adequate for the amount of skin you want to show and also that it goes well with your sari. While black is a universal favorite and goes well with all colors, you might wanna mix-n-match your sari with a top in a darker/lighter shade.IMG_20190123_203218.jpg

Oversized is the New Black

More times than often we all feel like we ran out of clothes to wear despite having an entire wardrobe full of stuff. We all have hangout plans or dates to go to and I think you’d agree with me when I say that nobody wants to be seen wearing the same outfit in more than one photos. Unless you’re a daddy’s lil princess like Cher (Clueless) or have a walk-in closet like Carrie(Sex and the City), managing clothes is a hard job. While on a low budget, get creative with your elder brother’s/boyfriend’s or dad’s tshirts/sweaters/pullovers/shirts and give it your own creative spin. Pair it with a belt or a waistband or let it hang loose over your sexy bod.
Make sure to accessorize it with nice shoes/sneakers/high-tops to give it a sporty-yet-sexy look.

Whatever you wear and wherever you plan on going, do not be afraid of trying out new things on your own. The tabloids of Vogue or the Paris Fashion Week aren’t the only things which define fashion. Fashion is wearing something and owning it. Fashion is being able to slay while staying comfortable. You never know what style might catch on. You never know what cute guy might be noticing you or what other women might take inspiration from your outfit 😉dsc_0832-015023744172256420614.jpeg
